"I need a miracle. God makes the miracle, or I am going to pray for a miracle." These phrases are common and increasingly frequent among believers. There is nothing wrong with asking for miracles; sometimes, one feels desperate and seeks help.
What we must understand is that it is not just about asking for miracles; it is about asking for the strength to be the ones to perform the miracle ourselves. In the Bible, when David fights against Goliath, David does not ask the Lord to eliminate Goliath; he asks for the strength to throw the stone that destroys Goliath. That is what we must do: ask for the strength to carry out our plans and tasks and to solve our problems.
Our body and mind are perfect machines, but we have neglected them. God gave us freedom, capacity, and strength to fight, excel, and fulfill the work entrusted to us, but we have preferred comfort, an easy life, and minimal effort to achieve what we want. Many times, we justify this way of "living" by saying that God's "will" be done.
We must be grateful for what we have; most of us have more than we need to live well, but we always want more. Ambition is not bad as long as it does not harm others. Living well is a valid objective, but waiting for God to give us what we need is where the error lies.
If we take care of our body and our mind, we are capable of performing miracles. We need the strength that faith in God gives us, but as humans, we have no limits. We were created to achieve what we set out to do.
Let's work on our body and mind, dedicate time to strengthening ourselves, and get away from what is imprisoning us, such as technology, junk food, and lack of exercise. Let's take care of our body. Let's enjoy nature, healthy food, peace of mind, our friends, our neighbors, and the things that give us peace. Then we will be able to perform our own miracles, enjoy life, and help others enjoy it.
Let's seek our freedom, break the chains that make us believe we have no choice but to be slaves to consumerism and stress. We are free to decide what we want from our lives. Let's stop being the guardians of our own prisons. Let's perform our own miracles. Freedom is Not Negotiable.
Power, the ultimate commodity
